The invisible work.

Operations is where businesses are really built. We study how yours runs, then architect the quiet underneath — so everything just works, and nobody has to think about it.

On Operations

Strategy is visible. Operations is load-bearing.

Strategy decks don’t win companies. The ones that endure are the ones whose operations — the hourly mechanics of how work actually moves through them — are quietly, unglamorously superb. It isn’t the obvious place to put attention. It’s where the real difference is made.

Nemco treats operations as design, not configuration. We map how yours runs, name the friction that has shaped its ceiling, and architect the systems that resolve it. What we deliver is a blueprint — deliberate, quiet, built to last. Building it is the work of a different hand.

How we see it

The four places
friction hides.

01

Workflow Friction

Where work stalls. Approvals that route through five people. Handoffs that take days instead of hours. Queues that form invisibly between steps — each one tolerable, the stack of them decisive.

02

Integration Gaps

Where systems don’t speak.Data re-entered by hand because two tools that should be connected aren’t. Reports assembled from three spreadsheets because no single source is authoritative.

03

Hidden Hours

Where people do what machines should.Copy-paste. Reconciliation. Routing. Notification. Work that fills an hour every day and is never anyone’s actual job.

04

Undocumented Work

Where operations live in heads, not systems. Processes only one person understands. Workarounds no one wrote down. The slow-motion liability of specific memories staying in specific places.

Our approach

Four stages. One deliverable.

We work sequentially — unhurried, documented, and designed to end at a clean blueprint that another hand can build from.

I · Listen

A private reading

Interviews with the people who do the work, not just the ones who describe it. We sit with teams and observe the hourly mechanics. You cannot fix what you have not first seen accurately.

II · Diagnose

A priced diagnosis

We map operations against the four lenses and quantify what each friction costs — in hours per week, dollars per quarter, risks per scale milestone. The diagnosis is the product.

III · Architect

A written blueprint

We design the resolved system. What automates. What restructures. What stays deliberately manual because it is the right seam. Specific enough that a builder could execute without a second meeting.

IV · Deliver

A clean handoff

We hand over the blueprint, and the work of building begins. Often by Process & Automation, our execution partner. Sometimes by an internal team. The thinking is separable from the doing, by design.

The handoff
A clean seam between
thinking and doing.

Most consulting engagements trail off — a deliverable handed over, a call scheduled, follow-up invoices that never quite stop. We end differently. The blueprint we produce is specific enough to execute against, and the execution happens through a sister firm with one job: building what Nemco designs.

That firm is Process & Automation. It runs independently of the consulting practice. Most of our clients choose it, because the handoff is frictionless. Some don’t. Either works — the blueprint we delivered stands on its own.
